Are you permanently or temporarily living with your family in a country that is not your home country? Do you have questions about how you can help your children with the change in environment?
I work with parents and with teenagers who have moved with their parents around the world. This is most of the time by Skype/ Facetime conversations.
Common issues might include:
- Parents and children who have to deal with saying goodbye to family and friends (over again).
- Struggles with making new friends and how to build your social network.
- How to integrate into your new country but still keep your own values.
- How to create a safe base for your children from where they can explore the world
Together we explore your norms and values and your needs as a parent or the needs of your child. I can help you to make a plan you can apply to every move, tailored to your unique family situation.
Of course, I also work preventively with you to prepare your child for the upcoming changes. I help you as parents to see and better understand the signals your child is showing. And together we work on a plan to support your child coping with the changes, to prevent problems or to take care of difficulties before it's becoming a bigger problem.
I speak Dutch and English.
